A BLAST TO THE PAST & GOING BACK FOR MORE?

We do a quick time warp back to the World of the Coinless (Pre-Shattered Grid), seemingly just after Drakkon had taken reign over his new empire. With his Ranger Slayer ever so obedient and in line.

We cut to now with Drakkon seemingly IN the Morphing Grid! We’ve seen this before when Mat Groom had those issues with Tommy and Kimberly “training,” so this isn’t too out of left field. But remember, he wasn’t alone. A Dark Specter-infected Drakkon Ranger Slayer followed him in. So, in The Grid, it has manifested into a version of when Rita gave him his new name, Drakkon.

Dark Drakkon Ranger Slayer surprise attacks her former master, and an epic fight ensues over several pages with heavy banter back and forth in a fight scene that I don’t think we have ever seen in a ranger comic before! AND WE HAVE SEEN SOME FIGHTS!!

MEANWHILE IN REALITY

Chaos, pure and utter chaos! Rangers are fighting on all fronts! Ranger Vs. Ranger, Ally vs Ally. As the situation turns dire, MMPR Kimberly calls back for Billy and Dr. Morgan uses her energem to DINO SUPER CHARGE the teleporters so that ranges can make it back from the Not-So-Safehaven. They all made it back except for Kiya. Kiya, being Kiya, decides to blow up the Master Arch, stranding Drakkon and Ranger Slayer in the Grid.

Dark Spector, now not having access to the Arch, is ready to take his wrath out on Mistree Vile. Luckily, she had a contingency plan. Using her own Morphin Energy, she is her own walking master arch key! The more and more Dark Spector infects the Grid, and using a tainted version of Keeper’s staff, he can access the Arch power wherever he wants…

Thoughts From THE GRID

Let me make this very clear, Rangers! I will not give away the plot here! It is too big to spoil on a website review! I suggest you bury your head in the sand till you can get to your LCS and pick this up TODAY!

Aside from giving away the ending, this book was excellent! Drakkon’s narration was genius, and to tie it back later in the book? Masterful! There is a 2-page spread that has so many ranger teams represented. It makes an era of Ranger fan point and call them all out!

Kiya is still a wild card in this whole scenario. I’m looking forward to seeing how Missy resolves her story. Speaking of the story, how about the call back to young Rita and how she has morphin energy coursing through her? Missy knows her fandom and is playing in the whole vastness of the Grid.

I don’t do this often, but this one is a

10 out of 10 Power Coins!
