The narrative ignites with the aftermath of issue 16, as the consequences of Viking Sun’s shocking act—killing Owen Bell, Dylan’s grandfather—unravel in the fiery depths of the sun stone. Parrott masterfully weaves a captivating and emotional narrative with Marcus, injecting a layer of intrigue that promises to unfold in the evolving character dynamics.
The heart of this issue lies in the supernatural battle for Dylan’s body. Brock, Aurie, Dotty, and Juliette, each empowered by the talismans from the previous installment, engage in a riveting clash against Caleb and his recruited rogues gallery. Parrott’s writing shines as he orchestrates dynamic banter between the rogues from the talismans and the Bell family. The concept of prisoners within the talismans body-sharing, mirroring the same conflict Dylan and Caleb are going through, creates a captivating, multi-layered problem. The decision to occasionally draw in the trapped character within the Bell family, evoking Schizophrenic vibes, adds a layer of complexity to the internal struggles and conflicts.
