The Story:

Tony Stark is playing the long game. In order to stop the mutant-hating Feilong, Tony has had to turn to the Hellfire Club. In order to free his best friend from prison, stop Feilong, and reclaim his technology he must do the unthinkable… get married!

The Writing:

Gerry Duggan is writing the best Iron Man story I’ve read in years, plain and simple. The interplay between Tony, Feilong, and Emma Frost has been, chef’s kiss, perfection. The plot has been moving at a perfect pace as Tony Stark gets to shine as the genius he is. Every time Feilong thinks he has Tony beat, the Golden Avenger makes a move behind the scenes to keep him in the game. The unlikely paring of Tony Stark and Emma Frost has been so much fun to read. These are two characters used to being the smartest and most prepared person in the room so watching them go back and forth is a real treat.

The Artwork:

Juan Frigeri and Bryan Valenza continue to shine as the art in this issue was fantastic! The character designs, emotions, and action were top tier. The new Mark Nil armor looks amazing with the dark colors and green accents. Whoever decided on the costume design needs a medal. I’ve never wanted to cosplay as a character more than I do now with the fantastic red suit that Tony wore to his “wedding.”

The Verdict: 10/10

This issue was perfection! I tried to find a single flaw or nitpick and I came up wanting. With some solid twists and turns, familiar characters, and incredible art, this team is firing on all cylinders. While I am predisposed to enjoy any title with Iron Man at the center, I can say without a doubt that you will be hard pressed to find a more enjoyable single issue of any comic. I know that I have been saying this before, but if you are not already reading this please don’t wait, start now!
