This year, The Captioned Life Show spent our Free Comic Book Day at Comic Book University, a comic shop on the south side of Indianapolis. They also had special guest artists present at their shop for the day:
- Mark Brayer, Illustrator of many children’s books, comics, posters, and more
- Jackie Crofts who is the creator of “Nutmeg”
- Dan Schkade, the artist of “The Spirit Returns” and “Lavender Jack”
- Gavin Smith, who is the current artist on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series from IDW Publishing
I also spoke to the store owner, Rob Skorjanc, about the shop, Free Comic Book Day, how long they’ve been participating in this nationwide event, and what people may not realize about the day.
