Getting into season four of Invincible, it is apparent that Mark Grayson (voiced by Steven Yeun) is in a different head space that he has never been before. There are a ton of new elements, foes, and allies that are coming into play. I love seeing Eve (voiced by Gillian Jacobs) back in this new season. Another new thing is Oliver (voiced by Lincoln Boldin), has grown older, and has a lot more opinions in his teenage years. Most of this first episode also sees Mark evaluating his choices that he makes, and questioning if they are the right ones.
What I love about Invincible is that Mark always has been a complex character. He usually goes by his gut. Now, it seems more and more apparent that he might be more like his father than he realizes. In this first episode there is a clear absence of Nolan (voiced byJ.K. Simmons) but, I am sure that he will be back. He is a foe that is notable and exciting to see.
One of the things I loved to see in this episode were the fight scenes.

This show amazes me every time, hooking me with that first episode. Cecil (voiced by Walton Goggins) always has been the one to wrangle in everyone. He is still trying to keep things in order, and trying again to get some new faces together for the Guardians.Â

There is so much depth that is among each episode, I always feel like I’m right in the midst of it. Most of the first episode focuses on Mark trying to grapple with his romantic and family relationships. Mark’s mom, Debbie (voiced by Sandra Oh), seems to be moving on in her life. Overall, this was a solid good episode, with lots of action packed sequences. I just hope that Mark gets his head in the game, and keeps being himself, while not turning into Nolan.
You can watch Invincible Season 4 Episode 1 on March 18th, only on Amazon Prime Video.
