PEACEMAKER SEASON 2 EPISODE 4 RECAP: Need I Say Door

Coming off the heels of an action-packed third episode, we start with a flashback to 35 years ago, with Chris out hunting with his dad and brother. The trio is in search of deer; however, they stumble upon an alien that is holding a mysterious object, which their father shoots and kills.

After some investigation, it is revealed, thanks to an open door, that this is the key to the inter-dimensional room that Chris has been using and that it can be moved around.

Meanwhile, Economos is on the way to Chris’s house along with Sasha, Langston, and Red St. Wild to catch Chris in the act and bring him in to ARGUS. Chris, who is back in his own room, recognizes the mess that the house is in a wreck as Economos gives him a warning that they are pulling up to his house. Chris grabs the key to the door, and Eagly narrowly escapes the house. Red St. Wild enjoys old Eagle poop as the hunt is on, to which Economos knocks him out in an attempt to keep him from killing Eagly.

Judo master catches up with Chris in the woods, causing the two to fight, resulting in Judo Master being knocked out. Adebayo, who is blissfully unaware and at her hotel, gets the paper with her security ad in it when Chris calls her for help. She picks him up. The duo rushes to Chris’s grandfather’s cabin as Economos calls. He warns him that they are about to break through the door that holds the inter-dimensional portal. Chris explains the door to Adebayo and the situation to her about where he has been. They arrive at the cabin.Chris barely manages to move the portal to the cabin as Economos and the team break into the closet, only for it to be a closet again.

Rick Flagg Sr pays a visit to Harcourt and offers her full benefits and her job back, but with a catch. She must lure Peacemaker into them. Chris and Adebayo are arguing about the dangers of this other Earth that Chris has found and his perfect life there.

Harcourt sends Chris a text, further complicating his feelings for her, and they need to meet. The episode ends with Red dancing in some rather culturally appropriation attire around a fire, channeling his “third eye,” revealing the cabin where the team is hiding while Chris is on his way to meet Harcourt in a perfectly laid trap.

Peacemaker season 2 episode 4 lays out an uncertain road, further complicating the feelings and choices Chris must make and the old life that Harcourt longs for as well. We get a lot of information on this portal and a bit of a look into its origins as well. The series is nailing the emotional tones and raising the bar for what DC is laying out in this universe.
