Another compelling episode of “The Batman” spin-off strikes! This week Victor (Rhenzy Feliz) is front and center. It shows his relationship with his girlfriend, Graciela (Anire Kim Amoda). Watch for the scene thats shows how much Victor was a teenager. Victor gets into a fight with his parents about going out, and hanging with friends. Little did he know, when the bombs went off, it killed his family. Throughout this episode you see him grappling with flashbacks.
Meanwhile Oz, (Colin Farrell) is finally working with Sofia (Cristin Milioti) with making major deals. Sofia shows Oz what the family has been working on. Sofia shows a room full of mushrooms. These mushrooms have grown to have spores that bring people a different kind of high. Since this is so unique and new, they will be able to expand how they deal the drugs. Sofia is still wary of trusting Oz, but, for the moment she still needs to work with him.
Oz gets back to Victor, and when all the plans are being finalized, Oz goes off with Sofia alone. Sofia says that Victor is not needed on where they were going. While Oz is out, Victor invites Graciela over. While hanging out, she informs Victor that she is moving to California. Graciela says that nothing is here in New York, and that she wants to start her life over. Her parents were killed, and she wants to finish her schooling. Graciela invites Victor to come with her, but, Victor seems that he has to think about it.
Oz takes Victor out to dinner, and while Victor is ordering, he is interrupted by the waiter. Oz tells the waiter to let Victor complete his order. Oz encourages Victor to stick up for himself, when he is trying to say something. Throughout the episode, it seems that Victor is working on that.
Later on, Victor is in charge of handing out pills at the club, and getting money for them. A brief moment at the club, he starts to have PTSD and think about the day that his family had died. He has a panic attack and ends up dropping pills, and needing to compose himself in the bathroom. Oz finds him in the bathroom, and finds his phone and confronts him on leaving. Oz thinks about the whole picture for Victor, and said he’s not holding him hostage. As Victor makes plans to leave, and gets to the bus station, he ends up turning around. Oz and Sofia are being held up by Maroni’s wife Nadia (Shohreh Aghdashloo), at gunpoint. Victor then rams into one of Maroni’s wife’s guards, and saves Oz. Victor asks about Sofia, and Oz tells him to drive off, leaving her behind.
Again, Oz is going be in trouble with the Falcone’s for leaving Sofia. Oz always seems to be in trouble, and then he ends up getting out of it. Sofia’s trust from Oz is broken once again. I can’t wait to see the next episode.
I give this episode a 10/10.
