Another Sunday night of House of the Dragon starts out, strong. The Lannisters are meeting, and beginning to march. They want to send word to Prince Aemond (Ewan Mitchell) about them going to Harrenhal. Aemond is furious that they need an “escort”. As the meeting continues, Ser Criston Cole (Fabien Frankel) explains to Prince Aemond that if Daemon succeeds at Harrenhal, then they won’t have enough an army to defeat him and his dragon.
Prince Aemond brushes that off and says, “My Uncle is a challenge I welcome. If he dares challenges me.” Aemond wants to speak to his mother Alicent (Olivia Cooke), and questions why she continues to sit in on the small council meetings. Alicent responds that she served alongside when his father, King Viserys, was not able to. Aemond said he thanks her for her time, but she is not needed. He says, “You have the gratitude of the crown.”
The Grandmister informs that King Aemon (Tom Glynn-Carney)is awake. Aemond goes and visits his brother, Aegon, and asks if he remembers anything. Aegon responds that no, he doesn’t remember anything. Aemond gives his brother a kiss on the forehead, and tells the Grandmister, Aegon has a long healing journey ahead of him.
Now over to Corlys (Steven Toussaint) who finally puts the pin on his jacket, ready to be the hand to Queen Rhaneyra ( Emma D’Arcy). Over to Rhaneyra, she has identified someone to try and claim the dragon, Seasmoke. She finds that Ser Steffon Darklyn (Anthony Flanagan) would be a possible dragon rider. Jace (Harry Collett) questions his mother about this potential candidate. While they go and get Seasmoke, it seems the dragon is complying to Ser Steffon. He thinks he finally is able to claim the dragon, but ends up being burned to death.
Daemon ( Matt Smith) is still at Harrenhal. When he is dreaming, he sees his deceased brother King Viserys ( Paddy Considine ). King Viserys is giving him an order, and Daemon steps back and tries to leave. He pulls on the doors and they don’t open. Daemon pleads and is sliding down the doors to get them open. When he finally gets out, he is met with Ser Simon (Simon Russell Beale) in his face. Daemon thinks that Simon is trying to poison and trick him during his stay. Later on, Daemon runs into Alys Rivers (Gayle Rankin), and asks for her advice and counsel.
Back with Team Green, Alicent goes to find something to do and gets Halaena to go and light candles for Aegon and the “lost souls.” While they are out, they are informed that they must leave. A crowd of people are attacking them, and they throw fish at Alicent. Rhaneyra sent out a boat with food, that one of the people found washing up shore. The people are hungry, and they are running out of food.
We see Alyn (Abubakar Salim) and Corlys (Steven Toussaint) asks him to be his first mate, on the ship that is still being built. Alyn tries to not do it, and asks him if that was a “command or an oder.” Later on, it is revealed is to why he doesn’t want to. Corlys doesn’t want to “claim” or “acknowledge” that Alyn or Addam (Clinton Liberty) as his sons. In another scene, Addam is being chased by Seasmoke. It seems that Seasmoke wants him to be his dragon rider.
At the end there is a conversation between Rhaneyra and Mysaria (Sonoya Mizuno), and she explains what has happened in her past. Mysaria explains that she knows that Rhaneyra is the rightful heir to the throne. When they embrace, the hug is longer and they are making out. They are interrupted by a guard, and explained that a dragon rider has arrived. Rhaneyra is stunned, and goes out on her dragon to go and see who is riding SeaSmoke.
