Spoilers Ahead For Episode 3
This episode in my opinion, the best so far. As the audience jumps back into being with the Creature Commandos, we follow G.I. Robot (Sean Gunn). As he has mentioned plenty of times, he is all about “killing the Nazis” and wondered where exactly that came from. While this episode dives into G.I. Robot’s life, it is revealed that he has been built, and the people used him as artificial intelligence.
There was one point he was on a talk show to talk about his killings. G.I. Robot responded in a mild manner, but if there were any Nazi’s in the T.V. studio audience, they would have to be eliminated. G.I. Robot also has a great friendship with Nina. When Nina was in trouble, G.I. Robot was able to come to her rescue.
Cersei’s intentions were revealed as the team went to rescue The Bride (Indira Varma) and also Nina (Zoe Mazursky). The team rushes back to the castle to go and save the princess once again. Back to G.I. Robot, it seems that he has had two previous owners. One that made him and the other one who found him amidst the trash. G.I. Robot’s heart is shown throughout this episode, he wants to protect the Creature Commando’s team but is still programmed to do what he is asked.
Final Thoughts
I was really hoping to spend more time with G.I. Robot. Besides the Bride, he is a fascinating character. I wish he had more characteristics other than his military background. To bring the audience to love and adore him as much as I do. For a robot, his personality shone through most of this episode and I cannot wait for him in live-action!
One last other note is that the music matches this episode perfectly. I love James Gunn’s playlist, usually throughout either his T.V. shows or movies. Of course, there is violence throughout this show (you might want the kids to skip this one). I can say for sure that I am having a lot of fun watching this show.
I give this episode a 9.5/10.
