The Original X-Men lineup is back, and MARVEL has a huge arc coming. If this is the first of many, I was hooked by page 6!

X’s of Future Parallel (not past)
In the not too distant past, the X-Men are visited by The Phoenix, but not one that we are similar to. This “Purple Phoenix” explains how there is another multiversal phoenix doing bad stuff etc etc, and the only people to put her X-Team in check are, their younger selves.
The “Kids” head off to the other future and, one by one, meet their future alternative selves, which is hilarious, and recruit their older selves to the cause. Suddenly, they are attacked by… Purple Pheonix?! Chaos ensues, fight fight fight, it’s not Jean/Purple Pheonix kinda… It’s ONSLAUGHT! But rather than using Charles and Magneto like in other universes, this one attached itself to Jean Grey! (ART CREDIT: MAVREL ENTERTAINMENT)
Kinda using a psychic spirit bomb, the now-freed Purple Phoenix dispatches Onslaught. With that, the Kids go into what looks like a Phoenix Pocket Dimension to ask to have their minds wiped so they don’t turn out like the jerks they encountered in the future. She obliges and sends them on their way.
She is being scolded by someone off the pages about how she shouldn’t have let them go and how they could have been a help down the line. How this voice is ready to go after the multitude of Onslaughts, Jean says they will need a “Band of Logans”, YEP is Wolverine!! Did I mention it’s AGE OF APOCALYPSE WOLVERINE!? CEREBRO THOUGHTS
WOW! To say the least, most of you know from watching Turn a Page that I’m well-versed in the characters but not really the stories and arc. Having this frantic, what seems to be universe-hopping adventure play out is going to really get my X-Gene jumping!
Christos Cage has got the snowball rolling, indeed! The writing doesn’t talk down to you nor does it automatically assume you know every bit of X-lore over 60 years. Speaking of spanning the centuries, all the nods to previous costumes, character designs, cameos, etc. had me going nuts! The entire art team to still encapsulates the throwback designs with their modern techniques, showing just how lucky we are as fans to have such creatives in our books!
The BEST PART!
There is a whole guide to all the cameos stuff at the end of the book!!!! It’s a two-fold win: first because you get to look it up, and second, I don’t have to rewrite it, LOL!
Christos Cage will return with the next book in the series that you’ll want to “SINK YOUR CLAWS IN”
