This Article Contains SPOILERS about Ms. Marvel!

Following the transformative events of Avengers-Con in Ms. Marvel, we find a much more happy and confident Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani). The contrast between her first entrance into her school and this appearance is apparent . Kamala and Bruno (Matt Lintz) work on understanding her new powers and how to use them. Episode 2 gives us one of the most entertaining training montages we have gotten in the MCU. There is even a nod to Black Widow on Vormir from Avengers: Endgame.

We get a brief explanation that her abilities are coming from her and not the Bracelet. This revelation may lead to Kamala ending this season with evolved powers that mirror what she has in the comics.

Kamala and her friend Nakia (Yasmeen Fletcher) have a very candid conversation regarding the condition of their side of the mosque that leads to Kamala encouraging Nakia to run for the mosque board. The chemistry between them both is very natural and complementary.

Zoe (Laurel Marsden) gains greater popularity for being saved by the masked hero that she names “Nightlight” and celebrates her reaching 1 million followers by throwing a party at her house. Kamala has a moment of reconciliation with her mother, Muneeba (Zenobia Shroff), over sneaking out for Avengers-Con. The interaction between the two is brief but very insightful on how important their relationship is for Kamala.

At Zoe’s party we discover that not only does Kamala has a Crush on the new senior Kamran (Rish Shah), but he appears to have an interest in her as well. Bruno does not take this information well. Kamala begins to feel like things are going her way and when she gets home she breaks into song and dance. The transition between her fantasy and reality is seamless and extremely entertaining.

Kamala seeks more information regarding the origin on the bracelet and is aware that her mother is keeping something secret about her great grandmother, Aisha, who seemed to disappear during the partition. Her mother only shares that she Shamed her family and was the reason for her family having to move halfway around the world.

The Khan family heads to the mosque to celebrate Eid Mubarak. Kamala, Nakia, and Bruno use the festival to campaign for Nakia’s place on the mosque board as well as info on Aisha. The breakdown of people they are campaigning to provides great insight to someone not familiar to the culture or religion and is entirely relatable regardless of religious background.

Not everything is fun and games, as we discover that the department of Damage Control is seeking more information and Zoe is being questioned. As entirely unpleasant as the agent seen in Now Way Home appears to be, the agent he sends to canvas mosques appears to already have a prejudice that requires her to be reminded to be respectful.

While Kamala seeks information about her family, a child finds himself in danger and needs rescue. Kamala dons her Captain Marvel cosplay and is able to save the boy, with much difficulty and opinions are against her. As fun as her powers have been, this gives Kamala how hard it is to be and act as a hero.

Kamala also encounters Damage Control and is chased by retrofitted Stark Industries drones, likely confiscated from Peter Parker. Kamala only escapes with some assistance that leads to a revelation that all is not as it appears.

This show continues to delight with powerful visuals, great pacing and character development. Iman is natural as Kamala Khan and steals every scene she is in. This is easily becoming one of my favorite MCU shows.
